Watch Out!!
The Christian life is hard and anyone that tells you otherwise is lying to you. When we become a Christian and are born again we become enemies of this world and the world is always after us. The word born again means that we are now dead to this world and alive to God. That doesn't mean that we don't have times when we get off the path and walk in the ways of the world, but it does mean that we will want to walk in the way of the Lord. Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:3 put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. The devil would like nothing more than to get you back into his kingdom. As soon has you get out of bed the devil will be attacking you. I am not saying that every time you are tempted to sin that the devil is making you do it. We are tempted to sin when we are carried away by our own lust (James 1:14). Your old nature and the devil are fighting against you every day and all day. John Owen said that when "sin stops fighting against you, then you can stop fighting against it". "That day will happen when we get to heaven and not a second sooner. We are at war and we must have to the right weapons to fight the enemy. The Bible is called the sword for good reason. It is used for offense to attack the sin in our life. We need to hide the word in our hearts like as the Psalms say . We are most likely not to sin when we have the word on our minds and lips. Whatever you are thinking about doing that is against God, it is not worth it. There is always a way out of your sin, you just have to look to Christ for help. Let's make the most of our time because the days are evil (Eph 5:15-16). No sin is worth the wrath of God, no matter how good it may look to you. Jesus said that you can't serve two masters for you will hate the one or love the other. Chose life or death, chose Christ or this world for you can't have both.

"Coming out of the World"
2 Corinthians 6:14
14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? [2] Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,
“I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them,
and I will be their God,
and they shall be my people.
17 Therefore go out from their midst,
and be separate from them, says the Lord,
and touch no unclean thing;
then I will welcome you,
18 and I will be a father to you,
and you shall be sons and daughters to me,
says the Lord Almighty.”
Revelation 18:4
4 Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,
“Come out of her, my people,
lest you take part in her sins,
lest you share in her plagues;
5 for her sins are heaped high as heaven,
and God has remembered her iniquities.

Am I really one of the Elect?
(Sermonette listen above, these things are really taking off! Praise God!!)
Hello everyone, our topic today is posed in a question, "Are you sure your saved?" Sometimes people wonder "if" they are really saved..... Sometimes I hear of some who question if they are truly 'elected' by God. Sometimes they say, "maybe I'm just not one of the elect". Dear reader, it is possible to be saved and doubt it(most likely because of sin), but it is also possible to be saved and KNOW FOR SURE that you are! So come and sit under the feet of the Apostle Peter and let him guide you through self-examination to make sure your one of the blessed Elect.
2 Peter 1:3-11
3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.
5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, [5] and virtue with knowledge,
6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,
7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.
8 For if these qualities [6] are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.
10 Therefore, brothers, [7] be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.
11 For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Don't be Stupid
How I pray that we would love the discipline of the Lord our God! Oh, it is so hard to understand but it is sweet to the soul.
Our sermoneet texts are, (please pray over these texts of Holy Scripture, and may the Lord grant you understanding.)
Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but he who hates reproof is stupid.
James 1:2-4
2 Count it all joy, my brothers, [2] when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Hebrews 12:5-11
And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?
“My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6 For the Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. 11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Shut up and Listen
Do you talk too much? Or perhaps you know someone who talks so much, you do not even want to be around them, in fact, you do your best to avoid them. We do not hear many sermons about this topic, yet the Bible is not silent regarding this wickedness of talking too much. The one who talks profusely has no love for the person they are talking too, therefore, they sin against the One (God) in whose image they have been made in, due to the lack of value and sense of worth which is endowed in every human being. Talking too much is one of the giant fruits of the root called "prideful spirit."
So shut up and listen to this sermonette.
Proverbs 17:27-28
27 Whoever restrains his words has knowledge,
and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.
28 Even a fool who keeps silent is considered wise;
when he closes his lips, he is deemed intelligent.
